Welcome to Brandon University — Where Community and Learning Come Together

Located just 70 km north of Boissevain, Brandon University is recognized as Manitoba’s premier regional university outside of Winnipeg. The university is deeply rooted in the land it occupies. It is guided by Indigenous knowledge and traditions that shape its values and direction. A strong commitment to community engagement is central to its mission.


Brandon University offers a welcoming and supportive environment, particularly for students from rural and smaller communities. With 70% of classes having 20 students or fewer, learners benefit from personalized attention and a close-knit academic setting that supports student success.


Faculty members bring global experience into the classroom, enriching the learning environment with diverse perspectives and insights. The campus community embraces inclusion, respect, and the unique contributions of each individual. With just over 3,200 students, Brandon University offers a friendly and accessible atmosphere that fosters student success.

Learn by Doing at Assiniboine College

 

Assiniboine College is built on the belief that hands-on learning leads to real-world success. Programs are designed to go beyond textbooks, offering students practical experience through projects, industry placements, practicums, and professional events. This approach ensures graduates are well-prepared for rewarding careers.


From growing plants in a sustainable greenhouse to preparing meals in a teaching kitchen, students learn in environments that reflect the careers they are training for. Small class sizes enable personalized instruction and provide strong support from faculty who are deeply invested in student success.


The college also fosters a vibrant campus life, where students form lasting friendships, learn from industry professionals, and enjoy a close, convenient learning environment.


Assiniboine operates five permanent campuses, including two in Brandon, Manitoba. Additionally, the college offers programs in communities across the province. In 2021–22, training was provided in 32 different locations, including rural and remote areas. This flexible delivery model ensures access to quality education, regardless of where students live.


Graduates of Assiniboine see strong outcomes. Within nine months of completing their programs, 94% are employed, and 88% are working in their field of study—clear evidence that an Assiniboine education opens doors to opportunity.
