I think the most important thing right off the hop, is to let people know what Matthewson & Co.is doing here, in Boissevain-Morton.

Well, we have been providing supports to Boissevain-Morton Council off and on since 2016. We provide supports to lots of communities in Saskatchewan, and Manitoba, and more recently in Alberta.

In Boissevain-Morton, we have an agreement for approximately 40 hours a month, to support their community economic development interests. We just finished an RFP to find someone to build apartments, and planning work with the daycare to create more spaces. We are also working with businesses to provide supports for succession and expansion planning. We are providing some training and one to one support.

Council chooses my priorities based on the information we gathered from the Quality-of-Life Survey, the business surveys and interviews (in progress) and the Youth Survey, just completed and waiting for approval.

About that Youth Survey, I have to say, I was thrilled to see such a depth of insight from people so young. As soon as it is approved, I’ll have it up to share it with you. We plan to use that information to work with the school to support the next generation of community leadership.
